One CFA Charterholder or CFA Institute member and supervisor OR two investment professionals and supervisor. The supervisor requirement is waived if the applicant is the principal of the firm, a student, retired, self-employed, unemployed, or if providing a supervisor sponsor places the applicant in a difficult professional position.

To earn the Chartered Financial Analyst charter, you must first apply to become a member of both CFA Institute and a CFA Institute Member Society.
