Private Family Office – Senior Investment Professional

A Single Family Office, located in South Florida, is looking to hire a Senior Investment Professional to perform analysis on investment managers and financial markets.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, the right individual for the Investment Professional role will be responsible for manager due diligence, asset class analysis, and other analytical support for a private family office encompassing the following general responsibilities:

·       Manager due diligence: perform analysis of managers across asset classes (cash, fixed income, equities, hedge funds, real estate, private equity, commodities, opportunistic).

o       Attending meetings

o       Performing analysis

o       Preparing reports

·       Markets research: analysis of key drivers of returns in the markets using various sources of information (manager meetings, academic research, blogs, Wall Street research, etc.):

o       Locate high quality information

o       Analyze the information

o       Organize the findings and present in a cohesive manner

·       Manager monitoring:  regular review of manager results, organizations stability, and factors that drive manager’s performance:

o       Attend conference calls and meetings with managers

o       Prepare reports

o       Make recommendations on manager decisions

·       Markets monitoring: analysis of main drivers of returns in the financial markets.

·       Deep understanding of existing investments in portfolio: analysis and categorization of existing investments based on their main exposures (e.g., asset class, industry sector, liquidity)

·       Assistance with reporting on the portfolio:  coordination with the reporting team to produce useful and correct information on the investments

·       Some travel will be required

Person needed

Required:

·       Exceptionally bright, willing to learn.  Significant training to be done by CIO.

·       Able to provide a well-researched independent opinion

·       Willing to work hard and obtain unique experience

·       Understanding of core principles of investment management

·       Organized and reliable

Desired:

·       Bachelor’s degree or MBA with some work experience

·       Experience with asset management, manager selection, and portfolio analysis

·       CFA not required

·       5-10 years of work experience

·       Experience working with family offices
